David Kincannon was bitten by the performance bug early. In the 2nd grade, he entered a school talent show, and sang an a cappella cover of "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, and that started the journey that he is on to this day. Whether it was appearing in plays at church or in high school, singing in choirs, or appearing in school singing competitions, throughout his life, David has regularly been rehearsing or performing.

Deciding that he wanted to try and make performing a career, he received a BA in vocal music from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He appeared in multiple plays, and performed with the Coe College Concert Choir, Coe College Madrigal Choir, and the Collage Show Ensemble. After college, he moved to Colorado, where he took an extended hiatus from performing.

In 2004, he performed in his first show in Colorado, a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with a community theatre group called Castle Rock Players. Along the way, he has taken detours into singing big band jazz with William and the Romantics, and acting in several films. Through it all, though, theatre has remained his main artistic outlet.
